Hey Randal, with all due respect, I bought your books with my own money, not
Tim O`Reilly's. Tim has distributed the money I paid to the authors of the
books I've bought that he's published. Keep that in perspective, please. If
not for the "stupider" people like myself, and "younger" people like Puneet,
I seriously doubt your checks from Tim would amount to a "Lot" of money.

And speaking of respect, no one in the "Perl community" has more than you
Randal. I include myself among those who hold you in high regard. I've
learned a lot from you.

But after giving it some thought I have not been able to conceive of
anything "To cause displeasure, anger, resentment, or wounded feelings in"
Puneet's play on words with Tim's name. Witty? Sure. As in, "Oh really? Well
I've learned something new again.". But not offensive. Nope, even I can't
twist that one and I watch CNN and FOX News sometimes for fun.

Elvis the Pelvis, Hank the Crank, Steve the "Woz", $Bill Luebkert. These
guys didn't seem offended when someone made fun of their name. Are you sure
Tom would be offended by Puneet's wit? In any case, I'm not.

I'll repeat once again (and as often as necessary) that this list, the "Mac
OS X Perl List" was started as a result of people responding with nasty and
mean comments instead of answers and help to those (like me) who wrote
legitimate questions or comments about Perl on OS X to the "MacPerl" and the
"cgi-list" lists. Now, two years after this list was created, both of the
above mentioned lists together generate less than 20% of the messages this
one generates.

I believe that part of the reason for that is because most who participate
on this list have a keen sense of humor as well as a high level of
tolerance.

Finally, to keep this message on topic, I clicked on the
"http://www.dwheeler.com/oss_fs_why.html"; link and, Puneet, thanks again for
taking the time to relate something interesting to us on the list. I've
learned a lot from you too.

Kindest Regards,
