Man, you've gotta get yourself past the syntax layer and start concentrating on the semantics. I never would have noticed any quoting disparity if you hadn't called attention to it. Seems like such a silly thing to obsess over (and to publicly criticize the author for, which just seems a little mean) when the world is full of much more important things to criticize.
