i think this was actually the first Hack book that i bought, and i think it is awesome. some of the code could be cleaner, but i think the most important thing about it was it taught me to feel in control and capable when faced with spidering/scraping/aggregating stuff from the web with some examples. i think the dict script is the only one i still use, but i have since written numerous little perl scripts to use in this endeavor.
