On a side note, I finally realized what Murr was talking about in his bug
report response, and commenting out the following line in ~/lib/AmphetaDesk.pm:
$SIG{INT} = sub { die "User cancelled" };
Seems to stop the crashes from happening (four starts/stops, no problems).
