I'm using perl to automate testing (an executable that makes calls 
into a library), and all the perl scripted testing broke when the 
test tool was carbonized. The conclusion is that one can't call into 
a carbon based thing from a non carbon based thing. Perhaps this is a 
bogus conclusion?
