HTML Styled email is ok, as far as I'm concerned. But email that contains active
html (ie, go out to some url and grab images when the email is viewed) should
be outlawed! I think it is a gross intrusion on my privacy to open my own mail.
(The sender can put special tags on the html link that you wouldn't see unless
you are watching the dialog at the bottom of the screen)
I ALWAYS run with active html disabled in my mailer program (Eudora Pro). And
most of the time, if I get junk mail from someone I don't know, I just turn
the message around and send it back. Give 'em a dose of their own meds.
I also run with return receipts disabled with the option to selectively process
them.
