After some fiddling trying to get the whole CPAN thing working, I'm
decidedly of the impression that full CPAN support should really be bundled
in with the MacPerl release version, including
MIME::Base64
Digest::MD5
URI
libwww-perl
libnet
Storable (for caching the Metadata for CPAN.pm)
It's quite distressing to find (what I consider to be damn-near) basic
functionality at this point, missing from the distribution.
I realize that this is undergoing testing at this point, and it's only an
alpha version, however the inclusion of these items can and should be part
of the porting and testing process (IMNERHO), as I find it totally necessary
for my current enjoyment of MacPerl 520r4 :)
