Using 5.6.1b3, it appears that cpan-mac and installme.plx are broken. I
tried to install XML::Parser (for Mac), but if I drop the tarball onto the
droplet I get:

# Compression not available
File 'Dev:Pseudo'; Line 19
# Can't use an undefined value as an ARRAY reference.
File 'HomeSlice:Applications (Mac OS 9):Development Applications:MacPerl
Ÿ:site_perl:Archive:Tar.pm'; Line 708

If I try the expanded folder (expanded using Stuffit, since untarzipme.plx
doesn't work either), I get:

# Compression not available
File 'Dev:Pseudo'; Line 19
# Can't do :Makefile.PL in HomeSlice:Desktop
Folder:XML-Parser-2.30-bin56Mac:
# No HomeSlice:Desktop Folder:XML-Parser-2.30-bin56Mac: package data.
File 'HomeSlice:Applications (Mac OS 9):Development Applications:MacPerl
Ÿ:site_perl:ExtUtils:MM_MacOS.pm'; Line 917

I tried using cpan-mac to find the module/dist, but when I "i XML::Parser" I
get:

Going to read HomeSlice:Applications (Mac OS 9):Development
Applications:MacPerl Ÿ:.cpan:sources:authors:01mailrc.txt.gz
# Could pipe[not_here --decompress --stdout HomeSlice:Applications (Mac OS
9):Development Applications:MacPerl Ÿ:.cpan:sources:authors:01mailrc.txt.gz
|]: Operation not permitted, <FIN> line 1.
File 'HomeSlice:Applications (Mac OS 9):Development Applications:MacPerl
Ÿ:site_perl:CPAN.pm'; Line 4606

and sometimes tons of SIG PIPE unimplemented (paraphrasing) errors in
Net.pm. This is the one installed by cpan-mac, so I would assume that the
modules were ported to Mac, but apparently not completely, since signals
aren't supported.

Have these issues been solved or is there something extra I need to do?
