It's only worth it if you need to make a lot of changes to it now or in the
future, or if the AppleScript portion is slow.

That is: something that is already done and is working usually isn't worth
rewriting, unless it is not working as well as you'd like, or it is not yet
done, in which case it is not already done and/or working.  :-)
