A previous thread involved calling a shell script from MacPerl even though the
operating system was OS neXt and real perl was available. This led me to the problem I
have seen before which is how to make a UNIX executable into an application which can
be double-clicked from the finder or "opened" by a high level event - an AppleEvent.

I have spent some time developing a tcsh script that will do that. When I have time I
intend to create a drag-and-drop application - using AppleScript - that will do its
thing when a script file is simply dropped onto an icon.

I invite your attention to:

and the files therein, in particular:

<ftp://ftp.macnauchtan.com/Software/PrepAPPL/ReadMe_PrepAPPL.text>  and
<ftp://ftp.macnauchtan.com/Software/PrepAPPL/PrepAPPL.scr>

More to come as I have time.
