I would rather opt for the second choice.
OK. The reports we've seen have been on 10.13 and 10.11. We could create
a xar-devel subport to try out the newer version, but it would take
quite a while to get results from the buildbot with the current queue
lengths. I'll see if I can try it out in Virtualbox.
I went for a third option and fixed the current version on older systems. :)
