Heads up, all: As per the subject, Rust is coming to Git.
As of Git 2.55.0, you need to pass NO_RUST=1 to disable Rust components in the build process. It seems that Rust will become mandatory by the time we reach Git v3. https://github.com/Libre-WD-40/git is a fork of Git that aims to deliver Git without Rust (named as such because WD-40 removes rust).
