Not so. We use it in Canada without problems. We've had it hooked up to both a CAD bank account and a USD bank account at a canadian bank. The only limitation we seem to have is that we can't do AMEX properly (whereby properly I mean, in a way that's suitable to us. In theory it's possible).
We've modified PotionStore to talk to Auth.Net, if anyone wants that code give us a shout and we'd be happy to send our modifications.
