I also have ALSA 1.0.13 (libasound2 and alsa-base from Debian
testing). And I have a normal analog audio output _without_ the patch.

Can you:
- describe what does not work for you
- describe what you need to do to make audio work
- include your [1] reference in your mail
- quote the part from [1] you can talking about. I can't find a
section matching what you are saying in my [1]
