I am having difficulties getting good results with my synaptics setup.
When I first initialised synaptics for the touchpad it was too slow and
insensitive to use - once I had use synclient -m 1 and synclient - l for a
while I got most of the boundaries pretty right and the touch sensitivity
is numerically ok from the readings I am getting, additionally I have two
and three finger tapping working but:

1) the touchpad seems very insensitive for fine/slow/delicate movements
around the cursor (compared to my ThinkPad touchpad which is amazing - ie
I can use the gimp with the touchpad)
2) although I have improved it by changing settings the cursor tends to
jump to the pointer bar while typing and therefore sometimes massively
selecting and overtyping other fields in a web page etc... *very*
frustrating.
3) the acceleration is not great and I have it set very high but I find
that it is not proportional horizontal vs vertical - I can sweep across
the screen left to right in one or (sometimes) two strokes but vertical
requires several motions and this seems wrong - I expect to be able to
traverse the widescreen proportionally and since I like high sensitivity
and high accel I am wondering if the trackpad will be a limitation in
itself.

Any thoughts, recommendations or opinions most sincerely sought :-)
Will
