I have the exactly same thing.

Haven't found a way to correct thing so that rEFIt only shows the
three correct options...

I think this happens when we write lilo to MBR instead of the start of
the linux partition.
I haven't yet solved the problem.
(I'm able to boot windows with a dual-boot lilo config, but have lost
the ability to boot into linux now.. he he.. basically, linux PANICs
when it can't find the root device.. weird)
