Hi Sven, Maybe that´s why I couldn´t do it in Linux (I still haven´t set my region). Can you check if you can play DVDs from a different region than the one you set your drive to? Can anyone else confirm this with this drive or with another one on an MBP C2D. I think the drive you have is the one that has the new region checking hardware (like mine) so if you can view DVDs from any region then that´s a very good sign (just being able to view DVDs from the same region the drive is set to using CSS does not clearly resolve the issue because the drive just checks the DVD region and if it doesn´t match the firmware setting then it returns erroneous data - I don´t know if CSS can get around this).
