hi stan! youre right. there a 3 remaining issues on the mbp. maybe some other mactel-users could share their opinion to finally remove those 3 issues?
a) ndiswrapper well it doesnt really work very well. i got freezes, network-interruptions and so on. i tested quite a few windows-drivers and ndiswrapper versions. but i guess we will have to wait until the atheros-driver arrives. b) ati-drivers crappy. simply crappy as always with proprietary things ;) suspend is working with the newest version, but powerplay/throttling isnt. so the graphics card is wasting battery-capacity. one of the most important facts regarding battery runtime on the mbp. i also got this message and i _think_ it doesnt work due of the "missing" bios. i really dont know.. maybe some suggestions here? c) heat yes.. awful.. my fans are running at 3000-4000 rpm with a terrible loud noise and wasting energy. you may want to read julien blaches blog entry about that. i hope that it will get better with the tickless-patches, which will be included in 2.6.21. for those smc-issues, i think, some reverse engineering is needed, as those parts arent part of the darwin-project. > thanx for any help - these are the last 3 things which are still not > working .. everything works just as well if not better than osx .. > even the mike and the sound .. youre so right.. ;) best regards daniel -- this mail was sent using 100% recycled electrons ================================================ daniel g. siegel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://home.cs.tum.edu/~siegel gnupg key id: 0x6EEC9E62 fingerprint: DE5B 1F64 9034 1FB6 E120 DE10 268D AFD5 6EEC 9E62 encrypted email preferred
