The native macbook resolution (1280x800) is the only available option :( (I've added 1280x1024 to Modes in the display subsection) When I rotate the desktop or restart X I actually get a squished mirror. Ideally I'd like to bypass the internal display completely (I have an Acer laptop with Ubuntu installed that does this by default, configurable in the BIOS; extended desktop works fine there as well, but not together with my Wacom tablet).
