Well, the $2300 XPS that I saw has a 17" screen with a 256 7900 GS GPU...
Granted, some of it's specs aren't as good as the MBP but it's still a 17"
lappy. It's not an 1" thin too which all but guarantee's better heat
dispersion/regulation... Anyhoo... The things are expensive is my point. :-)
Too expensive to be having these problems.

As badly as I've been "burned" with this MBP, I still wouldn't mind having
an Nvidia one. It's that fanitical Apple loyalty kicking in. Makes no sense
but there it is.

This is just something each individual needs to decide upon. Just using OSX,
they are great machines for the most part. However, having an intel chip
guarantee's that people are going to be running other stuff. That's THE ONLY
REASON why I bought one in the first place. You can install almost anything
on it. Saves me from having to jump around to different computers.
