Hi, > which arguments do you use with klaptop_acpi_helper?
I've configured klaptop to suspend when I close the lid. I don't know which arguments are used. Anyway, I made a little test and the command "klaptop_acpi_helper --suspend" works. > > - iSight is perfectly working (even after a resume from suspend-to-ram). > > how did you solve the problem of loading the iSight firmware before > the 'uvcvideo' module when booting? Well well well... I didn't really solve that. The facts are : - with an unmodified ortwin's config, I had trouble with the uvcvideo module - after I made the changes (listed below) as suggested by powertop, the problem simply disappears # CONFIG_IRQBALANCE is not set CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_STAT=y CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND=y CONFIG_DEBUG_KERNEL=y CONFIG_DETECT_SOFTLOCKUP=y CONFIG_TIMER_STATS=y CONFIG_DEBUG_PREEMPT=y CONFIG_FORCED_INLINING=y I don't know if the solution is in these changes (I'm not a kernel guru...). All I can say is : the problem has gone JUST after them. > with a blank screen at resume, you can still interact with the OS and > type commands and stuff. when i resume from RAM, my Mac is completely > unresponsive, and the power LED on the front is off. Sorry, "blank screen" is not a correct/complete description. I had exactly the same problem as you. > > - migration from gentoo to debian/sid (maybe there is some kernel > > differences, I use the sources from the repository not the vanilla one) > > really! you use the stock Debian Sid kernel? have you applied the > mactel patches? Yes without any problem. The package I use is : --- linux-source-2.6.21 - Linux kernel source for version 2.6.21 with Debian patches --- > > - no framebuffer in console > > > > Actually, I was thinking that the blank screen after resuming was a > > framebuffer problem... but it is just another hypothesis. > > how can i determine if i'm using a framebuffer in the console? i don't > know if this is relevant, but i have "vga=773" in lilo.conf ... 'vga=773' correspond to "VESA framebuffer console @ 1024x768x256". So, yes, you are using framebuffer. Try to : - change vga mode to normal (vga=normal) - rerun lilo - reboot ... and ask some gods :) > > I have yet some "battery information" problems... Battery definitively > > sucks on linux+mbp! > > does your battery information disappear after resuming from a suspend? No. Actually, since I reinstall my mbp (one week ago), I just had this problem once after a (premeditate) battery crash. Usually, I empty my battery until shutdown every two month (to re-calibrate it).
