I like this script (acpi-power) and I use a (very) simplified version to handle automatically backlight intensity. But, if I remember, the rest of the script is not really usefull for me. It consists of : - cpu changes & - suspend in itself. For the first I use "cpufreqd" and, for the second, klaptop_acpi_helper. As I don't need to unload modules or exit Xorg before suspend, a script like mbps2ram is not necessary. > > > how did you solve the problem of loading the iSight firmware before > > > the 'uvcvideo' module when booting? > > > > Well well well... I hope so! The two settings you miss are linked to CONFIG_DEBUG_KERNEL (I mean automatically selected) which is necessary to activate CONFIG_TIMER_STATS. If you don't use the same kernel as me (version, distrib,...), it is possible that these don't exist. > > > > - migration from gentoo to debian/sid (maybe there is some kernel > > > > differences, I use the sources from the repository not the vanilla > > > > one) > > > > > > really! you use the stock Debian Sid kernel? have you applied the > > > mactel patches? > > > > Yes without any problem. Yes and all the patches (from the mactel-linux svn repository) apply correctly. I don't use, at this time, the patches from linuxpowertop.org but I think it's a good idea. > well, the fans just went silent so the kernel compilation must be > done! it's so easy to tell when a cpu-intensive task is finished =P > i'll reboot and let you know how i go.
