Hi,

I managed to get the original appleir kernel driver to work with LIRC
(dev/input module) on my appletv. In case others have to do this, I
described my procedure in this forum:

http://forum.awkwardtv.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=167&p=2403#p2391

I modified the driver so that it would handle key releases when the
remote sends the codes.

I heard that one can use the appleir plug-in in LIRC and avoid to use a
certain kernel module, since the IR device should be handled by
the generic input layer in the Linux kernel.

Anyone got this working on an appletv?
