HI James,

According to Dan's post on the Mac Mini in the list archives, the dvi- 
to-vga adapter will not work.  It's the DVI to Composite/SVGA adapter  
that he was able to use to fool the mini into thinking a monitor was  
connected.  Here's Dan's  post about this in the thread "DVD problem

Note again that this is NOT the DVI to VGA adapter. In the Apple Store  
it's called "Apple DVI to Video Adapter" and lists for $19:
