Hi Rayna, Look through Tim Kilburn's VoiceOver pages for an overview of iTunes and creating playlists. Here's the link to the iTunes 7 description:
http://homepage.mac.com/kilburns/voiceover/itunes7.html You can just Google on "kilburns VoiceOver" to find one of his pages -- usually, his downloads page comes up -- and then use item chooser menu to find the link to home as the starting point. This is for iTunes 7, but is a good overview. Main change in iTunes 8 is added accessibility for the HTML part of the iTunes Store, but the old descriptions work, and are particularly helpful for buying individual songs using the songs table part of the store -- you just route your mouse cursor to the place where you hear the price announced and use VO-Shift-Space to purchase. Read more details on Tim's page. You create playlists either by creating a blank playlist with Command- N, which you then name and add items to, or by selecting an item or group of items in the songs table (or in the iTunes browser if you have that toggled on/off with Command-B -- will allow you to refine your songs table listing by album, artist or genre selection) and using Command-Shift-N to make a new playlist from your selection. Add to playlists either by using the context menu (VO-Shift-M) on selected songs in the songs outline, and "Add to Playlist" by selecting an existing playlist from the list, or copy and paste from your songs outline selections to the playlist in the sources table. Easiest way to search for podcasts is to use the "Search" feature in the iTunes Store. You can bring this up from the menu bar of the "Store" menu option in iTunes (VO-Shift-M to the menu bar, press "s" to go to "Store", arrow down and press "s" to go to "Search" and return), or on any main page in the iTunes Store look for the "Power Search" link with the item chooser or link chooser menu.
