Funny, my external Mac keyboard has only one control key on the left  
side.  I'm not sure what key sequences would require crossing your  
wrists, but of course everyone is a little different in their approach  
or physical abilities to press different key strokes.  Of course you  
can always lock the VO-keys by using VO-; (semicolon) or if your using  
an external keyboard, you always have the Keypad Commander.  I think  
you'll find some features in Snow Leopard, which will give you greater  
flexibility as well.
