Upgrade to iOS 7.1 .1 has not fixed the problem. Messages are coming in, notifications are sounding, and Siri can send a message out. Voiceover, however, is just not reading the message screen in the way that hit user too. I can think of no trick to make the cursor go to, say, the text field, or the send button. Nothing seems to be working, including a double tap for dictation
