Free is indeed best. :) I recommend simply googling "learn objective-c" to start with, and reading the tutorials you find. Some will make more sense than others, but which ones depend on your background, learning style, and so forth. For using Xcode, www.applevis.com has a few guides and forums you will probably find useful. I also put a podcast up there that goes through a "hello world" app which should help to explain things after you get through the basic layout stuff.
