1. To uninstall an app you generally just have to delete it from our 
application folder. There are utilities like clean my Mac or App Delete which 
offer a more system wide delete service if you require but in general deleting 
most apps will be fine.
2. Similarly to install a downloaded app simply copy the app file into the 
application folder. Often these apps will appear in a dmg file which you need 
to open to access the app file.

The exception to the above is those  app which tend to be ported across from 
Windows which have names like Flash install.app. Any app name with install in 
its name will need to be run like a Windows style program. These tend also to 
be best deleted with a utility like app delete or clean my mac.
