Hi Tim, Thank you for your advice. much appreciated indeed. I've done what you suggested. I hope this will do the trick otherwise - as you say - it's the Apple authorised dealer. I am really quite worried about this. This is my third mac and I've never had problems like this. Also, this is a kind of problem which is difficult to reproduce when necessary so it can't be demonstrated as such. Do you think these failures might show somewhere in the logs?
