ok. thanks. I was thinking about that old hard drive that I’m trying to move 
stuff from and I think I did delete a couple of those troublesome windows files 
so somewhere there probably is a trash although I haven’t found it yet. why 
would this dialogue about locked items come up when I’m moving a folder that 
has nothing to do with the trash? if I get rid of the trash will I be able to 
move stuff or would it be safer just to copy everything and then erase the 
drive afterwards?
