Hi Gabriel, Thanks so much for buying the tutorial and it's great to hear you
find it helpful. I'll try not to stray off topic for the list so will steer
clear of comments about Windows sound editors.
Sound Forge for Mac appears to be in quite good shape. It's been a couple of
years since I looked at it but at that time the interface sported a few
unlabelled buttons. It has some pretty nice effects. However, it's not a
multitrack editor, and I've now got to the point with the production that I do
that I'd not want to be without the ability to work with multiple tracks.
The Audacity folks seem to have taken some trouble to ensure the app is mostly
accessible and it's packed with keyboard shortcuts. Like Amadeus Pro, it's
multitrack. Like Sound Forge it is also cross-platform, so that may be an
advantage if you do a lot of work in both OS X and Windows. I've not used
Audacity a lot because I found it kind of...clunky, but the price is right and
people can train their brains to get used to anything if it's accessible.
Then of course you've got Garage Band, Logic Pro, Pro Tools and a few other
choices. It's a great position to be in, looking at what might meet our needs
and production style as opposed to having to use one package because it's the
only one that's accessible.
I've not heard it, but I saw there is a look at Sound Forge for Mac on
Applevis, so if you've not heard it yet, that might be worth a listen. I did
play with the demo a couple of years ago and it was a very natural experience
having used it in Windows for 17 years.
