Hi Donna, I don't think there's any one right option. It comes down to 
preferences. If you're starting form scratch then I would definitely consider 
Amadeus Pro, and the tutorial I just did, since it takes you through step by 
step for tasks one and three.
But there are many other perfectly good options including the free Audacity.
I think if I were in your position and just getting started, I'd pick the one 
where I can get the most support, and Amadeus Pro is quite widely used in the 
blind community.
