Hi. This is the reason why I use either Acapela's or Cereproc's voices if I'm
tired of using Alex and I want a different human sounding voice to blab to me.
Both brands of voices don't have the same delay as the Vocalizer voices do.
Acapela's voices are pretty cheap and once you download their Infovox Ivox
engine from assistiveware.com <http://assistiveware.com/> you can try them out
for 30 days. Cereproc, on the other hand, is a little more expensive than
Acapela, around 40 to $45 and has no free trial, however some of their voices
sound better than most of the Acapela voices. You can go to cereproc.com and
listen to samples of their voices. The only drawback with Cereproc, and I've
reported this to their support, is that the voices when doing a read all tend
to repeat a sentence once. But like I said, I experience no delay with them. I
hope this helps somebody.
