If you did say you wanted to use your Apple ID then the recovery key is with 
Apple.  You need the Reset Password Assistant from the recovery HD to get your 
FileVault password synchronised with your iCloud one.

If you just wait at the login prompt for a minute without doing anything, 
you’ll get the forgotten password prompt.  Turn the Mac off and on again, and 
you should be put into the Reset Password assistant.  Try turning VoiceOver on 
now.  Set your new password, and then restart from the Apple menu.  When the 
login prompt comes up again, now use your iCloud password.

If these steps don’t work, you could try booting into Recovery yourself 
(Command-R at the chime).  Then select the Reset Password Utility yourself from 
the menu.
