Hi, Siri can either be male or female. I have Siri set to the male voice as I find it to be a better voice, at least to my ears. The quality of Siri's voice is quite good although you have no ability to mess with its quality anymore than you can mess with the other VO voices.

Still it might be the difference between ever using an ios device as is the case now, and considering an iphone for non phone tasks.
