Rumpus has been around forever and folks on other forums seem to like it
but it's not cheap at $295:

There is a full FTP server built into OSX because of its unix
underpinnings. Not sure what you need to do that the ftp server can't.
Note that robust does not mean simple/easy. You can google around for
tutorials but they basically have you use terminal to run:
sudo -s launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist
which fires it up and sets it to load on bootup. To stop just change
load to unload in the same command. They you should be able to ftp to
your mac using yourname@yourmachine_address
Another path is to just upgrade to OSX Server. While it's pretty much
the same things as regular OSX under the hood, they provide tools to
configure all that goodness and I'm told you can just upgrade over top
of the regular OSX. Apple charges $20 for OSX server.

There is also CrushFTP but that's also $40:

Hi, Is there any solution equivalent to filezilla server for mac OS?
I know that the mac has a simple file server built in, but I'm
looking for something more robust.
