Just wondering if you’ve thought of using fusion pro and running a mac os vm with the ftp server setup in it?
I believe the newer vm Fusion pro will let you setup apple OSX vm That may have changed but but I thought that was one of the major differences between fusion and fusion pro. I could, but then users would have full accounts to the mac that was serving, all be it restricted ones. I just don't think I want to go that rout. I'm not even sure I'll be able to do what I want to do with a mac at all, but it would make my life much simpler if I could. Or possibly the OSX server will do the same, it’s 25 dollars I think from the app store. It just takes some configuration. Thanks, $40 might be in budget. I want to creat groups, monitor uploads, and some other tasks. I'll check this $40 package and see if it flies. Not sure what you need to do that the ftp server can't. Note that robust does not mean simple/easy. You can google around for tutorials but they basically have you use terminal to run: sudo -s launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist which fires it up and sets it to load on bootup. To stop just change load to unload in the same command. They you should be able to ftp to your mac using yourname@yourmachine_address Another path is to just upgrade to OSX Server. While it's pretty much the same things as regular OSX under the hood, they provide tools to configure all that goodness and I'm told you can just upgrade over top of the regular OSX. Apple charges $20 for OSX server. http://www.apple.com/osx/server/ There is also CrushFTP but that's also $40: http://www.crushftp.com/index.html CB On 2/11/16 11:46 AM, erik burggraaf wrote: Hi, Is there any solution equivalent to filezilla server for mac OS? I know that the mac has a simple file server built in, but I'm looking for something more robust.
