No joy. I think its a lost cause. You put focus om the clock and Voiceover will update the time every minute. You would expect the same in the case of the heart rate data being spoken whenever the data was updated. Not. Frustrating.

If you get this all figured out, would you post a summary? What
heartrate monitor and software you're using, etc. I've been googling for
this kind of info for years (literally). I asked on this list a few
times too. I thought I was the only blind workout nut on the planet for
a while there.

No no I cannot spin or I will fall over!

Yes in settings you can select the types you want. I will choose
indoor bike when I next play with the app. Its easy to navigate this
app so I pretty much looked at all of it.

I would love that cycling workout. Used to ride years ago and loved
the mountain bike. Got to where I could do 20-30 miles and barely
break a sweat. Sure miss that.

So I will try to figure this out this weekend.

Hi ET, I'm sitting here laughing,

  You've missed one,

There is also a spinning option as well.

I setup all 3 but I tend to only use the first 2
And just to let you know this is where the app I think fails a bit,
it will scrole through the workout types before it can get to the one
you want,
So it could be defaulting to a run but you have to wait till the
cycle option comes around, I've been lucky lately as it's started
with the cycle option already highlighted but I think that’s just luck.

I haven't spent any time trying to really figure it out, I wondered
if I can disable all the other workout types to only have the ones I
needed.

All I can say is give it a go and see how it works for you, if you
find something better please let me know,

I've looked at approx. 20 different fitness apps including the run
tastic ones and this turned out to be the best for what I was doing
as the others seemed to want to use gps during the workout.

HTH.

Me again. Installed the app and connected the H7. There are two
bike items. Cycling and Indoor Bike Training. Which one are you using?
Thanks. This might be just what I need.

Hi ET,

Yeah I use the same HR monitor
I was using it with the wahoo fitness app along with my cycle and erg,
However that was using a cycling workout in the app to get the HR
reading in real time.

Its been a while since I tried making this work and now with iOS
9.3.1 and updated apps, I am revisiting this.

I have the Polar H7 heart rate monitor. Is it possible to get
the heart rate spoken in real time with either the Health app or the
Polar Beat app? Well maybe not the Polar Beat app which was last
updated in October.

Are there any other apps that supports announcing the data in
real time?
