Donna,
You make an absolutely excellent point.
When you go to wake the TV up, it takes usually, at least for me, about 5 to
10 seconds before anything works.
I'd say you may have very well just hit the nail dead on the head. Great
observation.

Thanks, Chris. If the problem persists, I may do that. My current theory
is that I try to use the remote before it has fully woken up. So I'm going
to experiment with that for a while, and see if it solves the problem.
Cheers,
Donna

Wow. That's really weird. I wonder if maybe when you tried turning it on,
it was in the process of a software update? Again, it's unlikely, but VO
wouldn't speak nor turn on while it's doing an update. I'd absolutely
hate to tell you to reset the thing, as that definitely should be a very
last resort, and is quite an extreme measure. Unfortunately, at this
time, being I've never had this issue before, it's really the only other
thing I can think to do if it continues, short of first maybe calling
Apple Accessibility, and seeing what they say.
1-877-204-3930, then, choose option 1 from the menu. I know that says
iOS, but they deal with TVOS over there as well, as far as I'm aware.

Hi Chris,
Yeah, it is set correctly. I finally got VO talking--not sure how--and
that was the first thing I checked.

Donna

Have you looked to be sure that the tripple click menu button on the Siri
remote is indeed set to toggle on/off Voiceover? I know you initially
probably set it to do so, but it's possible something may a glitched, and
it got turned off, thereby making it not let you re-enable it. It's
unlikely, I agree with you on that point, but it's something I'd at least
check, just? in case.

Hi all,
About every other time I turn on our 4th Gen Apple Tv, it comes on but
VO doesn't speak. I've tried adjusting the volume, and turning VO off
and on, but neither helps. Has anyone experienced this, and if so, have
you figured out what the issue is?
Thanks,
Donna
