Sort a. Here's the deal.

It's like with iOS. If you don't enable it during setup, or! you finnish the setup with Voiceover turned off, then it won't be enabled. My aunt Linda just got an Apple TV 4th gen, and we ran into this very thing, as she didn't want Voiceover yammering out her ITunes password while we were setting it up. Which, I understand. She's family, yes, but that's 100 million percent understandable and incredibly respected. I don't even let my family members have my passwords like that either. If someone asked in the family, I wouldn't say no you can't have it, but I would ask them to justify a darn good reason why they felt they should know it.

I have one best friend, who literally! I don't think of as a friend, but more as a big brother. I've given it to him, but only to be used in the event that something was to happen to me, like, God forbid, I croke, and at that point, family needs it to do paperwork, or whatever.

I always feel my policy is, at least let one person aside yourself know it, just in case. But I'm r'r'r'r'r'r'r'really! veering off topic. Sorry. Anyway, my point is, yeah. We found out the hard way, that it's only enabled if you finnish the setup with Voiceover already turned on. It's enabled within the setup at all times, but not once you finnish it, unless you do so with it on.

And just for clarification, Scott, not your fault, you may not a known this, so absolutely no biggy, it's all good, but it's actually the menu key you'd tripple click, not the home key.

Take care, bro.

I thought the triple click on the apple TV was always enabled. You have to enable the accessibility shortcut specifically?

Have you looked to be sure that the tripple click menu button on the Siri
remote is indeed set to toggle on/off Voiceover? I know you initially
probably set it to do so, but it's possible something may a glitched, and it got turned off, thereby making it not let you re-enable it. It's unlikely, I agree with you on that point, but it's something I'd at least check, just?
in case.

Hi all,

About every other time I turn on our 4th Gen Apple Tv, it comes on but VO
doesn't speak. I've tried adjusting the volume, and turning VO off and
on, but neither helps. Has anyone experienced this, and if so, have you
figured out what the issue is?
Thanks,
Donna
