Another thing you can do from the terminal to sync your time the first time in case you have to much deviation from realtime is the following.
Enter terminal Sudo ntpdate time-a.nist.gov You may replace the server with one of your choice, I use NIST but you may use any time source that meets your needs. This in combination with the control panel changes should do the trick. I believe the iphone pulls this data automatically from the cell network so shouldn’t be required. Cell networks get stratum 1 time from atomic clocks or GPS sources so you know that time is highly accurate.
