Hello, Many thanks for the tips on this. I had speak caps set on in text verbosity, speak when caps lock pressed set on, mute VoiceOver sounds unchecked, and typing echo for words but not for characters. I find that typing echo set on for characters slows my typing speed. So I did not get any feedback when typing in upper case.
After some research I found that I could disable the caps lock key by going to system preferences then keyboard then modifier keys then set caps lock to no action. That fixed the problem and as I never use caps lock I don’t miss it. Interestingly I can still use caps lock as a VoiceOver key in addition to Control+Option. Best regards….
