I think waiting or not for them can cut both ways. If they don't wait,
there's no telling if you get someone else for the rest of the trip, and
that first driver loses out on the rest. I think you do save quite a bit
sometimes, as there is only one ride booking fee, and one charge of the
minimum fare for such a trip.

Hi,
Lets say you have started a trip and if you swipe and it says something
like:
Destination: CVS
You can double tap on that destination field and you will get an edit
box and you may also see previously used destinations.
Once you get lets say Publics Supermarket selected just double tap it.
Then there will be one more OK button to tap on that will update your
trips destination.
The waiting time price for Uber is very low its approximately $.20 a
minute, it will vary slightly depending on your city.
Most drivers will be willing to wait say about 5 minutes at an
intermediate stop, but if it gets to be a long time, you may be more
likely to find a driver who will ask you to request another Uber when
you are ready to go. The reason they may not want to wait is the low
per minute time based charge instead of the higher per mile charge
when they are moving.
This will vary market to market and driver to driver.
I mean in New York City at 10:00pm on a Saturday night they may not
want to wait for you for 30 minutes at a CVS, but in a smaller town
with less busy traffic, they may be more willing to wait.
Also if you want to here more about this from a driver perspective,
there is a video linked below on Youtube from The Ride Share Guy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y88sQNeJ168
But again if your just stopping somewhere for about 5 minutes or less
you should be fine.
For example when I work from home I will use the Starbucks app to
place a mobile order, go to the Starbucks and pick it up, and then
have the same Uber wait for me.
Also sometimes if I am taking a long trip I will have them first stop
at Starbucks, usually I'll do the order on the mobile app, and then
we'll go forth with the long trip.
Best,
Mika

Hi:
I live in the suburbs so I could wait 15-20 min for a car. I don’t want to
wait if I’m at the grocery store, or ordering food at a restaurant.

I’ve never tried something that elaborate but the drivers will work with
you. As long as they are willing you can adapt the trip as needed. Of
course as already noted this is going to make it hard to predict your
final fair. I thought I read something a while back about Lyft providing
this option but if it ever happened it isn’t obvious to me upon cursory
examination of the app.
I never considered that it would be cheaper to have them wait if it isn’t
long but that makes sense given that there’s an initial minimum charge.
I
usually just order a new one for the next leg of the journey but they are
plentiful where I live so I am usually not waiting very long.

Hi guys:
I’ve only used Uber to go from point A, to point B. My question is can
you use Uber to run several different errands at once without having to
call for multiple trips? If so, how can you do this in the app, then
find the Uber driver once you exit your stores?
As an example, I call Uber, want to go to the grocery store, will be
there only 5 min to grab milk and bread. Then, I want to go to CVS to
run
inside and pick up an RX. Then I want to call in an order to Beef
O’bradys for takeout. I’d then have to walk inside the restaurant,
pickup
food, get back in uber. Then I want to swing through the Starbucks drive
through to pickup a large tea. Then, return home. This is an example,
but I don’t want to have to call an Uber after each trip. For one thing,
probably a 15 minute wait.. and my food will get cold!
