Bill, you’ll find it very easy to do. Have you decided whether you’ll be using a USB stick to upgrade or will you be using the recovery partition to just fresh / clean install what’s already on the disk? Both are very easy, one requires a fresh USB stick but the steps should be straight forward either way.
One of the huge advantages of Apple is a blind user has access to the entire OS life cycle from initial setup / install to updating and decommissioning.
