OK, this week was the fifth anniversary of UBER being in the DC area.
They had a Pool special and I was able to find the ETA now before ordering a
car though I did have some issues with the application. If anybody out there
who has the newer version of the app and some experience recording VoiceOver I
would love to have you describe the issues.
I will try to give a step by step experience below.
1. Open the UBER application. it says nothing initially.
If you swipe left it says "Where to" and if you sswipe right you get "Schedule
a ride" followed by your favorite locations and locations you have gone to from
the current location. This is fairly good, though It would be good for
VoiceOver to say Where To on first open. When I clicked on a destination VO
stated "Leaving from home ETA 5 minutes". I could then swipe right for Economy
page 1 of 4. Here is issue #2. The one should be abel to swipe up and down at
this location with voiceover on to switch pages.
swiping left from economy 1 of 4 I can get the ETA. but just using explore by
touch the ETA can not be found.
None of the above issues is major they suggestion so far just would make the VO
experience a bit more intuitive.
There is however a problem with scheduling a UBER pool. After you select UBER
pool you need to select 1 or two passengers. On the screen to select the
passenger count, I swiped right until I heard one and then swiped right again
and heard nothing then swiped right once more and it said confirm one
passenger. I then swiped left looking for the two passengers and the only
choice is two. So every time you swipe past the count of passengers it changes
and there is no radio button or drop down. So this is very hard to use with
VoiceOver.
