Hmmm, well shut my mouth; I’m not sure why, but I was laboring under the dilution that “Text Selection” was not available while reading an e-mail message. I just tried it on one in my InBox and — wahLah - it works just fine.

Your suggestion (one that I’m sure a number of you were aware of) is by far the most convenient method to copy that gift code from the e-mail message to the paste-board.
