I’m probably straying into the off topic area here but you are right, Tim, and the same differences you’ve discovered about Android tablets in my limited experience apply to the phones. That’s why some Android users recommend sticking with the stock Android phones, i.e. hardware which does not run too many different special skins or software modifying the basic OS. forgive my non-technical language. :)
I’ve decided to experiment with Android just to make sure I have an alternative in the unlikely event of having to give up Apple but I’m still in love with VoiceOver. Having said that, TalkBack on Android has some very good voices and features.
