I purchased, or I should say I pre-ordered, an iPhone XR today through
T-Mobile. I first tried on the website, but it kept saying it was having
problems loading and I should retry. So I ended up calling my “team of experts“
on my current T-Mobile phone. The Customer Service from T-Mobile was very good.
The woman got my order and sent me an email with a link that I had to use in
order to electronically sign the document. They use a service called Doc you
sign. And the very last thing you have to do with that service before you
submit the order is to draw your initials or write your name in a box on the
page. Naturally, voiceover does not see this box, so this process is not
accessible. The customer service person at T-Mobile was apparently on familiar
with this process, as she had really no knowledge of this in accessible box.
When my husband got home tonight, he did the signing. When I am curious about
is whether anyone has found a way around this ridiculous in accessible feature.
It seems to me I’ve purchased an iPhone a couple of years ago from T-Mobile
using the same process, only I don’t think it was doc you sign. Or if it was, I
didn’t have that stupid box. I wonder how others did with their online
purchases through carriers.
