Hi John, You're right, a lot of those features are becoming more common now, but I haven't found another system that has all of them all in one place, especially the smart TRVs. The real gem is that the TRVs can talk to each other and the main thermostat. So say your heating is set to 20°C and every room in your house is at 20°C or above, except your living room which is at 18°C. The TRV in the living room will detect that the living room is too cold and send a command to override the main thermostat and switch it on so that the living room can get some heat. At the same time, it will also send a command to all the other TRVs to close up, so only the living room radiator actually gets warm. Works like a charm and makes my house feel so much more comfortable! Once the living room is up to temperature it will cancel the thermostat override, so the heating will switch off again. As for saving more by using manual mode, I'm of the opinion that that's a false economy in so many ways, but this is the good thing about having personal choice. Matthew
